Home for the Holidays

Preston and went home to Seattle for Thanksgiving. It was our first time spending Thanksgiving with my parents and boy did we have a blast!

My parents had no idea we were coming up so when we walked into my Dad's office at 10am two days before Thanksgiving, you can only image how shocked he was to see us. We had traveled all night in a horrible snow and ice storm and with lots of prayers and blessing, arrived safely at our destination. It was a stressful and tiring drive but more than worth it when we saw the look on my parents faces. After surprising my Dad, we all headed over to my mom's office. Boy was she thrilled! I must tell you that surprising my mom is not an easy task. She always catches onto some little hint or clue (I guess she's where I get it from) but this time I totally threw her off. I had called her a couple days prior to hitting the road to get a hint for exactly what their plans were for Thanksgiving. I gave her in depth details of our Thanksgiving and Christmas plans leaving her to fully expect that we were spending Thanksgiving in Utah.

(I only took pictures of everyone in their PJs on Thanksgiving so I will only embarrass one of us on the blog although this is hard to do with Preston's massive muscles and striking good looks. I love his morning hair although I think he fixed it before this picture was taken.)

This was without a doubt the best Thanksgiving I have ever had. The only thing I would have changed if I could was how long we stayed. I wish we could have stayed through the weekend but instead we had to head back the day after Thanksgiving. It would have been a lot more fun to have Bret with his family and Evan there as well. Hopefully next year we will be able to get the whole family together on Christmas or Thanksgiving. It's been a few years since we have been lucky enough to do that :(

We're looking forward to spending Christmas with Preston's family this year and most of all, Landon's last phone call home before he returns in February! YAY!

We are so blessed and grateful to have all of our friends and family in our lives. We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and wish you a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

The Holidays are Upon us

We are very excited for the holidays at our home. Yes, the tree is not only going up this month but this week! Call me crazy but I love Christmas that much. I consider the tree to not only be Christmas decor but Thanksgiving as well. Absolutely essential. I love the feeling of giving and love the tree brings into our home. You can't argue with that!

There is no better time of the year that I love more then the holiday season.

Happy Anniversary, Love!

I can't believe it's been two months since I've last blogged. Honestly, I've been waiting for my Mom to send me some pictures from my birthday and our family trip to Las Vegas (we all know blog posts are kinda boring without pictures) but alas, a few big events have past and I don't want to procrastinate my blogging any longer so I will sacrifice the pictures for now and post them as soon as I receive them. So in April Preston and I celebrated my big 21st birthday! Preston took me shopping. Finally, some new shirts. He also got me new running shoes. Just what I wanted and he couldn't have done better at picking them out. Ever since, I've been running and going to the gym like a crazy woman. My mom also flew into town on my birthday. My Dad and her got me 5 big De Walt TOOLS! They're awesome and I'm anxious to use them at our soon to be home. My sister in-law Amanda threw me a little birthday party with the family and made the most delicious cake. Oh my gosh was it delicious! She also made me this stinkin' cute apron with a matching towel. Amanda is so talented and creative. My other Sister in-law, Annie, got me these awesome scrapbook stamps. I can't wait until I actually have room in my home to whip those bad boys out and catch up on some scrapbooking. Thank you everyone for such a fun and memorable 21st birthday!!

At the beginning of the month, my cousin Craig came home from his mission. I haven't seen him yet but I'm anxious to and I'm so excited he has returned safely after serving a full time, honorable mission. I love you Craig!! Welcome Home!

About two weeks ago my brother Evan, Preston and I drove down to Vegas and met up with the rest of my family for mothers day. A short weekend but what a blast we had! Full of swimming, shopping, sun and fun :D.
On May 22nd, Preston and I celebrated our 1 year Anniversary. We had planned to keep it simple and used the excuse of buying a house as our 1 year Anniversary celebration. But I guess that didn't slide with Preston. Here's the story...Thursday night (the 21st) Preston and I went over to our friends house for dinner and a movie. We left their place at about 10:30pm. After we had left our friends place, Preston told me he wanted to go for a ride since it was still early in the night. I agreed although hesitated because I really had to use the restroom, I didn't have a sweater and my hair was down and blowing all over the place (I wasn't wearing a helmet because our friends live just down the street). Before I knew it, Preston was getting on the north bound entrance to the freeway. I asked him if he was purposely going that direction. He told me that he thought it would be fun to head up to Salt Lake and do some dancing. I thought it was a crazy idea because it was already 10:30 at night and we weren't prepared for the journey on the bike but he knew I couldn't resist a night on the dance floor so we continued on. As we pulled off the exit and headed for the dance hall, I noticed Preston was going straight past the place. I was confused and asked him why he didn't park in the available front parking spot. Preston told me he wanted to park around the corner because we were on the bike. (whatever that means) Well, he started driving pretty far past "the corner". As the excuses continued, I still had no idea what he was up to and I grew a stronger urge for the bathroom. As we pulled up to the Armstrong Mansion, (the place we stayed the night of our wedding) Preston said, "I thought since we were passing, you could use their restroom". So we walked into the romantic and stunning bed and breakfast in hopes to find a restroom. It wasn't until the woman at the front desk told Preston to "sign here" that I realized what was going on. Wow, I was really thick headed that night. Preston has never pulled a surprise that well before. I usually have my suspicions. What a fantastic night it was. Unfortunately, Preston forgot to pack the camera :( so we weren't able to take pictures but I will always hold the memory. Thank you, schnookers, for the incredible surprise!! I love you and I look forward to the many years to come!
That's big enough if not too big of a post for now. I will post pictures as soon as I recieve them.

My cute little Nephew!

Love and Vegas

Preston and I had a wonderful Valentines Day. We skipped the busy crowds by going out the night before to our favorite Thai restaurant. The next day we both had our opportunities to surprise one another with a little some'em some'em ;) It was great fun.

A few more big events have happened over the past two weeks and I want to recognize a few people...

My parents anniversary was Feb. 14. A girl could not ask for better parents. My Mom and Dad mean to the world to me and I love them very much. I am so grateful for all they have done for me. Thank you Mom and Dad for getting married!!! I don't know where I would be without you. I hope you had a wonderful Valentines Day/Anniversary!!

My brother and his amazing wife also had their Anniversary, on Feb 24th. Despite the fact they were sick, I hope they had a wonderful evening and wish them many more happy years to come. They are such a fun cute couple and are amazing parents to their one year old son.

This last week Preston and I went to Las Vegas. Preston had his national stunting competition down there at The Orleans. His team was so close to winning ,it almost hurts. He had an amazing group to preform with. They were all very talented and did a spectacular job.
We had a blast on our trip and were able to stay with our friends, the Orlowskis. It was AWESOME! I had never been in a home as large as theirs before. A mansion would be the correct term. Preston and I were able to enjoy their theater room a couple of times although our trip was short. They also had the comfiest bed I have EVER been in. I didn't want to leave Vegas for that one reason a lone. Their bed.
The Orlowskis are the kindest people and we are so lucky we have them as friends. Thank you for your hospitality! We love you!
