New Office!

Preston and I have been working on the back room for the last month. We painted it (I'm in love with the color), put a new light fixture in, put baseboards in and curtains (yes, I made those curtains and I'm dang proud of them!). I am also very proud to say that I did all of the caulking :D and dang it looks good. Seamless. You can hardly tell it's there. While Preston was away in Chicago on business I decided to surprise him. He was planning on caulking when he got home and was thrilled to see that the job had already been done when he returned.

Last week I went home to Seattle to visit my parents and while I was gone, Preston decided to do a little surprising himself. He installed the carpet that I had picked out 2 months ago and built me a computer for my photography work.

Take a look at the almost finished product! We've added the keyboard and chair since these photos were taken.

(I know I havn't posted any pictures of Preston and I in awhile. I'll have to do that soon!)

The "Fruits" of Our Labor

We don't really have a garden this year but we have kept up on our apricot tree and white grapes. Yum! Can anyone say, "delicious apricot cobbler and grape juice"?

September Is Almost Over...

I can't believe how quickly September has passed us by. I figured I needed to make at least one September post before the month is over.

It has been a pretty exciting month. My teacher that is from Ireland who taught my English class at Sacred Heart came to visit! Her name is Patricia Scroope. Mrs. Scroope was my absolutely most FAVORITE teacher I have ever had and ever will have, hands down. She has been the only person I've ever given The Book of Mormon to and she tells me that if I ever go visit her in Ireland, which will hopefully be next summer, I will see it sitting on her coffee table in her cottage. Her son, Gareth, came along as well. Mrs. Scroope and Gareth are very interested in the gospel so Preston I showed them around Salt Lake for two days. We answered many of their questions and when they return to Ireland, we are sending the missionaries over to their cottage. Yay for missionary work! I look forward to being at their baptisms :)

While we were in Salt Lake we also visited the Miller Speedway and Saltair. One word, FREAKING AWESOME! ... oh wait, that's two.

Preston and I also finished tiling Dukes room/ future laundry room. It looks great! I look forward to getting the walls re-textured (hurray for Muddy Boys) and painted. I know I still haven't posted pictures of the bathroom... ooops. They're coming soon.

The month isn't over yet. There is more fun to be had next week. I'll be sure to keep the blog updated.

Poor Mrs. Scoope's face got really burnt :(

And the Work Continues

We're getter there!

The plumber is updating all the piping this week so Preston, I and all of our loving wonderful helpers get a little break. Preston and I are so grateful for everyones help and patience. We couldn't ask for a sweeter giving family. This difficult task would have taken months if it weren't for you guys. Thank you so much, everyone!

And the Fun Begins!

We've stated remodeling. The main bathroom is our first project and we would like to get it done before we move in on July 1st. Preston's brothers Coby, Blaine, Tyler and my brother, Evan have been helping us with the demolition. My mom has also put in a lot of help and great tips. If it weren't for her, this project wouldn't be running as smoothly as it has been. The walls have been a nightmare to work with. Who ever built this house really built it "on a rock" or more correctly, out of rock. First they put drywall up and then they put a thick plaster/cement layer on it. On top of that, they put metal chicken wire/mesh in every single corner of every single wall.

Breaking Ground

We had our first weeding session yesterday. What fun! We found lots of creepy crawly friends (or should I say enemy's?). This is only the beginning of our yard adventures. We have lots more weeding to do and one day down the road, we will be re-landscaping.

This is Preston's brother, Coby. Preston and
Coby came over after work to meet up with the plumbing guy.
My Dad caught this snake. He's so brave. hehe.

Needless to say, I'm a little disgusted by it.

The second bush was a much better pull
but we didn't get a video :(

Home of Our Very Own

Preston and I closed!

On May 28, 2009 Preston and I signed our lives away when we bought our very first home. We are so anxious and excited for all the remodeling. It's going to be a lot of hard work but we're going to LOVE it when it's finished. The house is in great condition but there are a few things we're going to be changing. Good bye carpeted bathroom and kitchen, hello nice new hardwood floors! We're gutting and remodeling the upstairs bathroom this week. We'll be knocking out a wall so that our new vanity will fit, and we're putting in new vanity lighting, tiled floors and walls, a new mirror, we're resurfacing the pink bathtub into white, the whole sha-bang! I'm already having a blast :D

My parents came down this last Saturday to help us out a little. I love when they come down to visit!! My mom and I are going to tackle the weeds in the yard today. I've never been so excited to weed.

Time Flies

Well for the most part, i have gotten over the "monthly anniversary's", "Preston! we've been married for 7.2 months! We should celebrate"... haha But I can't help to recognize that one year ago today (March 4), Preston proposed to me!! Wow, time sure does fly when you're in love.

I love you babe! Thank you for asking!! ;)
